Everett, WA Laundry Room Remodel With Bold Color and Smart Storage

Homeowner Needs
Laundry rooms are often the unsung heroes of the home—working hard but rarely receiving the design attention they deserve (which may explain the mysterious fate of so many socks). That was certainly true for this Everett laundry room, tucked into the daylight basement of a 1950s home overlooking Possession Sound. The homeowners were unsure how to approach the space but knew they wanted to transform it from a place of drudgery into one of delight.
Remodeling Solution
VanderBeken began by tackling the top priority: storage. Floor-to-ceiling painted cabinetry now offers generous space for linens, cleaning supplies, and laundry essentials. Three banks of drawers and a corner cabinet—complete with a chrome Rev-A-Shelf pie-cut Lazy Susan (no offense, Susan!)—make staying organized effortless. Functional upgrades like a deep stainless steel utility sink and a wardrobe rod for hanging clothes further enhance the space’s practicality. And for a touch of luxury, the Cosentino Silestone Helix countertop and backsplash are paired with Top Knobs’ Lydia pulls and knobs in honey bronze, adding just the right amount of sparkle.
Result
The homeowners now enjoy a laundry room that works as hard as they do—while looking spectacular. It’s a fabulous combination. And while we can’t guarantee every sock will find its partner, we can say with confidence that laundry will be a lot more fun.
What We Love
We love that the homeowners had the confidence to splash around some color—Sherwin Williams Indigo Batik (SW 7602) brings bold personality to the space. After all, who wouldn’t love a laundry room with a ‘get-it-done’ attitude and a little extra flair?
Our Favorite Detail
The Honey Bronze pulls and knobs from Top Knobs are a standout detail—stylish, warm, and always a win.
