Camano Island Whole-Home Transformation with Stunning Views

These Camano Island homeowners sought to update all their living spaces, including the Family Room, Living Room, Game Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Primary Bedroom, and Bathroom, to make them more functional and visually appealing. Their vision was to create a modern aesthetic infused with an urban nautical vibe, seamlessly blending style with practicality.

Remodeling Solution

We transformed this Camano Island home with a cohesive modern aesthetic, blending neutral greys, rich woods, concrete, and bright white accents to create a sleek yet inviting space. Stainless steel hardware, updated window trim, and thoughtful design touches tied the interiors together with an urban nautical vibe.

The kitchen remodel replaced outdated cabinetry with rich espresso-finished lower cabinets and white upper cabinets, paired with complementary Pental quartz countertops: Sparkling White along the walls and Grey Savoie for the island. A textured horizontal tile backsplash added subtle depth without overwhelming the space. Removing some upper cabinets opened the kitchen, while stainless steel appliances and hardware completed the modern look. Elongated teardrop pendant lights visually separate the kitchen from the dining room.

We converted an unused space behind the island into a cozy sitting area by lacing in grey-stained red oak hardwood flooring. An office overlooking the space was transformed into a chic wine room, perfect for entertaining. The flooring was updated throughout the kitchen and dining area with wider grey oak planks to create flow. Window frames were refreshed to unify the home, while the original white railings were powder-coated in dark grey to complement the modern nautical theme.

The primary bathroom overhaul included replacing a glass block wall with solid walls for privacy and creating a toilet nook by installing a floating double-sink vanity. An LED-backlit mirror, glass tile backsplash, and freestanding tub added elegance and functionality, while natural light floods the space through a large window and glass doors leading to the patio.

For a playful nod to the home’s seaside theme, we installed reclaimed wood-look Wall Concept Nature Panels in “Norway” as a stunning accent wall behind the primary bed, tying into the twin “Sweden” accent wall in the living room. Shaw Floors “Surf’s Up” carpet brought the nautical vibe to the bedrooms and living areas, while built-ins in all bedrooms were refreshed with paint to match the updated design.

Throughout the first floor, we installed Metrofloor Engage Genesis “Mist” luxury vinyl tile, while bright grey wave-textured carpet added a cozy touch to the family room and primary bedroom. This whole-house remodel beautifully balanced modern design with personalized touches, creating a welcoming, cohesive home.
